Shift in Assessment Philosophy under NEP 2020
This transition redefines learning outcomes by moving beyond rote memorization and exam-centric performance. Instead, it emphasizes the development and application of competencies acquired through meaningful, experiential learning processes.
In alignment with this vision, assessment practices are being redesigned to shift away from high-stakes, one-time examinations toward continuous, formative, and holistic evaluation.
The Holistic Progress Card has been introduced as a key instrument to support this transformation by enabling 360-degree assessment of learners across academic, cognitive, social-emotional, physical, creative, and ethical domains.
